Roosevelt County Query. My gr-grandparents
were Isaac Paul (Ike) RIPLEY and
Laura Rebecca
WILLIAMS-ALLISON-WITHERS-RIPLEY. I
have a land deed in which Ike purchased 640 acres in New Mexico, issued
09/06/1935 in Roosevelt County, New Mexico.
Ike's Social Security application states he lost his first card, which
was issued in Clovis, NM, and he re-applied for one in McCulloch County, Texas
in 1940. I believe this family lived in Roosevelt Co. for less than
10 years. Their son, Milton Bailey
RIPLEY, lived in Lea County, NM for a time, in the 1920's. He met my
Grandmother, Hannie Katherine PERRY, in Brady,
McCulloch Co., TX and they eloped to Lea Co., NM to get married in 1931. These are the only connections that I know
of for these RIPLEY'S in NM. My question is: Were there other
family members who lived in these counties? Do any of these names ring
any bells for any researchers in Roosevelt/Lea Co.? I am trying to
uncover some "mysteries" surrounding this family and would greatly
appreciate any assistance! Thanks!

information about my great grandfather Rankin Redden CLARK and his wife Laura (SWEAZEA) CLARK, said to be living
in or around Portales about 1905 (they were shown on the 1900 census in

Would like info on Rankin (occupation, death date, etc...), where they
lived, and date they left the area if
possible. Laura is said to have re-married in Portales after 1905, and again in Logan, NM,
before 1910. Can someone please confirm this?
Thanks, Larry Bryant.
